‘The Magnetic Moment of the Antiproton’ is the second album by Cinema du Lyon released February 11, 2021 and available here.
The antiproton is the antiparticle of the proton. Antiprotons are stable, but they are typically short-lived, since any collision with a proton will cause both particles to be annihilated in a burst of energy. The determination of the magnetic moment of a single trapped particle is based on the measurement of two characteristic frequencies, the cyclotron frequency, which describes the particle’s revolutions per second in the magnetic field of the Penning trap, and the second, the precession frequency of the particle’s spin.
All compositions written, recorded and produced by Cinema du Lyon. Vocal performance on ‘The Magnetic Moment of the Antiproton’ by Charley Barley. Film excerpts on ‘Do It Now’ are public domain. Piano on Le Voleur de Vélos is played by the Bicycle Thief. Thanks to Stan Koretski for being diligent, insouciant, and playing cards. Takk til mine gode venner Ulf og Jonas for inspirasjon og klok antifilosofi. Enfin et surtout, un grand merci à Hervé Bernard.
Outside cadging money and day-dreaming at school, Billy has no positive interests. His greatest fear is ending up working down the pit as a coal miner. At that time, British miners were amongst the lowest paid workers in the developed world. But he has no apparent escape route from what would ultimately be his fate. That is until he finds an outlet from his pitiful existence through training a chicken that he takes from a nest on a farm. His interest in learning prompts Billy to steal a book from a secondhand book shop as he cannot get a borrower’s card.
Cinema du Lyon makes no promises, it merely casts a flickering light upon the screen. Nonetheless, Cinema du Lyon announces the proximity of a festival blessed with the presence of both day and night, and the arrival of des arts nouveaux in the very near future.
While birds sleep, bats and owls fly, foxes and badgers forage and rut. In this way the cycle of nature is maintained.
The city ferries are an important part of Fredrikstad’s transport system. There are 3 of them, two of which operate every day. The city ferry (Byfergen) operates between Gamlebyen (the Old Town), Isegran, the town centre and Gressvik. During the summer months, there is a guide on the ferry letting you know all about the town.
Gamlebyfergen operates between the west side and Gamlebyen, and is a two minute trip.
First described in the 1930s and contains ice cream, jelly, and cream. Layers of these different sweet tastes are alternated in a tall glass and topped with different kinds of syrup, nuts, whipped cream and often a cherry. Layers of meringue, fruit and even alcohol may be included but, as with an ice cream sundae, there is no precise recipe.
